(Washington, DC) -- Secretary of State John Kerry calls the use of chemical weapons a "moral obscenity" and says it is "all but certain" that Syria's government has used such weapons against rebel forces. He said it is an international line that cannot be crossed without accountability and consequences. Kerry noted that the U.S. is still weighing a response to the alleged use of chemical weapons in Syria.
The administration is considering possible military options after suspicions were raised about a chemical weapons attack. Kerry said the administration is consulting with congressional leaders and key allies overseas. UN weapons inspectors are in Syria to investigate the allegations. Syrian rebels claim the attack was launched by government forces last week. More than 350 people died in the attack.
