A Frederick man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for the murder of Gloria Fitzpatrick that happened on April 21st.
Captain Tim Clark, with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, said Antwine Dwayne Snowden, 51, was taken into custody at an apartment off Carroll Parkway.
"We had a short stand-off with Mr. Snowden. He observed officers coming in for the arrest and retreated to an apartment. We made a phone call in to him and he came out rather shortly afterwards," Clark said.
Snowden was taken to Frederick County Central Booking and charged with first and second degree murder.
Clark said Snowden lied about his whereabouts the evening of the murder, which encouraged investigators to reevaluate his activities.
Evidence shows that Snowden strangled Fitzpatrick to death and DNA results confirm his presence at crime scene.
Snowden is being held on a no bond status.
