Operator IV - Wastewater Treatment (287254)
The City of Frederick's Wastewater Treatment Facility is responsible for the treatment of the City's wastewater to reduce nutrients and solid wastes from wastewater. As a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator IV, the incumbent is required to learn and perform routine tasks and necessary tests related to the processing of wastewater. Some ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
· Possess knowledge and understanding of Safety Regulations, Maryland Department of the Environment regulations, as well as the safe operating limits of equipment used in the operation of wastewater treatment.
· Possess knowledge and understanding of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits and all of the requirements to maintain compliance with the permit.
· Possess knowledge and understanding to ensure compliance with standards and regulations set by the Maryland Department of the Environment and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
· Possess knowledge and understanding of Biological Nutrient Removal and Enhanced Nutrient Removal Process.
