It was a campfire gone awry.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says a campfire to the rear of a home at 1701 Georgia Avenue in Finksburg in Carroll County Friday night spread to the interior of the one-story, wood frame building dwelling, causing an estimated $60,000 damage.
40 fire fighters from the Gamber Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene, and had the flames under control within 40-minutes. There were no injuries.
The cause has been labeled accidental.
