Carroll County Sheriff's Office Makes Numerous Weekend Traffic Arrests

During the weekend of March 7-10, 2014, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were involved in several arrests. While most of these incidents began with traffic violations,  deputies were able to use their training to detect additional criminal and traffic violations, resulting in charges for 18 different people. The breakdown of the incidents are as follows:

On Friday, March 7th,  1 person was charged for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, 1 was charged for Possession of Marijuana, and 1 was charged for Driving with Suspended License.

On Saturday, March 8th, there were 6 such incidents: 2 were charged for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, 1 was charged for Possession of Marijuana, 1 was charged with Possession of Marijuana as well as other Controlled Dangerous Substances, 1 was charged with Driving with Suspended License, and 1 was charged with Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident.

On Sunday, March 9th, there were 7  incidents: 2 were charged for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, 2 were charged for Possession of Marijuana, 2 were charged for Driving with Suspended License, and 1 was charged for Driving Uninsured Vehicle.

On Monday, March 10th (until 0700 hours), there were 2  incidents: 1 was charged for Possession of Marijuana, and 1 was charged with Driving an Uninsured Vehicle.

"If you are going to consume alcohol, always plan ahead and designate a sober driver. Also, please remember that marijuana possession continues to be a criminal offense in Maryland, and will continue to be enforced accordingly," said Corporal Jon Light, Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
