The Frederick County Bureau of Investigation is currently looking into several bomb threats received at the Frederick County Courthouse this morning.
In a press release authorities said the first bomb threat was received at approximately 8:15 a.m. in Parole and Probation. The threat was non-specific and employees continued working inside the courthouse while the Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of the Frederick Police Department and an ATF K-9 unit cleared the building. Citizens were restricted access to the facility until the search was completed. Investigators said nothing suspicious was found. The building was reopened to the public at 9:45 a.m.
A second bomb threat was received in the District Court Clerk's Office shortly before 11:00 a.m.
As the investigation continues, the courthouse remains open to the public.
