A Frederick County teacher was recognized as one of the five 2014 Engineering News-Record/McGraw Hill -- Architecture, Construction and Engineering Exemplary Mentor Award winners.
A jury of the 2013 Exemplary Mentors selected Philip Arnold for the honor. Arnold is an engineer by trade and became a teacher to inspire the next generation of industry leaders.
Arnold will go to Washington, D.C., on May 5, 2014, for an awards ceremony to recognize his and the other winners' work. His award includes $2,500 that will be used as a scholarship in his name and $500 to travel to Chicago for the All Affiliates Best Practices Conference from June 22 to 23.
The other winners are in New York City, Nashville, Central Iowa and Atlanta.
