Are you worried about preparing your middle schooler for high school? Frederick County Public Schools is hosting a program called, "Planning for the Future: Life After Middle School."
Parents of eighth graders are encouraged to attend the free program from 7 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2014, in the Frederick Community College Jack B. Kussmaul Theater.
The program will cover information regarding high school requirements, planning, assessments, career and technology opportunities, linking high school and college courses, and college savings plans. This program is specifically designed to give parents valuable resource materials.
Speakers will include: FCC President Douglas Browning, FCPS Middle Schools Director Thomas Saunders, FCPS Curriculum Director Dr. George Seaton, FCPS Career and Technology Center Principal Michael Concepcion, Thurmont Middle School Counselor Sherry Bueso, FCC Admissions Director Lisa Freel, Mount St. Mary's University Assistant Director of Admissions Mark Wagoner and the Director for Strategic Partnerships at the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command Colonel Robert von Tersch.
