Motorists who normally travel along Route 77 (Rocky Ridge Road) near Frushour Road east of Thurmont should be prepared for flagging operations. The Maryland State Highway Administration says work crews will be cleaning and painting the Route 77 bridge over Owens Creek between 6:00 AM Wednesday and 6:00 AM Thursday.
Flaggers will be there directing traffic.
Drivers are urged to give themselves extra time, or to take an alternate route.
The SHA says it's all part of a $1.3-million contract with Relas Painting Company, Inc. to clean and paint 11 bridges in Frederick and Carroll Counties. Officials say it's part of SHA's preservation and safety plan for the state's 2,500 bridges.
