An anonymous tip from a citizen lead to the arrest of a Frederick man on drug and weapons charges on Wednesday.
Drug Enforcement Unit officers went to a unit block of Waverly Drive to investigate reports of a suspicious odor coming from a home. Rojak West was a resident who was outside. Authorities say he showed them a marijuana cigar. Officers say they could smell raw marijuana coming from West's home which was disproportionate with the marijuana cigar.
After obtaining a search warrant, DEU officers entered West's home, and found several ounces of marijuana, packaging materials, a digital scale, a large sum of money, a loaded handgun and ammunition.
West was taken into custody. He's charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm in nexus to a drug trafficking crime, possession of a firearm after conviction of a drug felony, possession of a regulated firearm after conviction of a drug felony and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
