Charges of possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of paraphernalia and one count of possession of controlled paraphernalia have been filed against a Frederick man. Omari Claude Samms, 24, was arrested Friday afternoon following a traffic stop.
Frederick Police say at around 2:08 PM, an officer on patrol noticed a man get into a vehicle in the 100 block of West South Street. That car failed to stop at a stop sign at West South and South Market Streets, and the officer pulled it over.
Due to the officer observing suspicious activity on the part of the man who got into the car, a police canine was called to the scene and did a positive sniff for drugs.
A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana, a hypodermic needle, a scale and a grinder.
Samm was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking.
