A Frederick man was indicted Friday on five counts of sexual solicitation of a minor. The Grand Jury also charged George Robert Staton, 44, with one count each of solicitation of a minor to produce child pornography, and possession of child pornography.
Frederick Police say they received a harrassment complaint in October, 2012. During their investigation, authorities learned that an individual was sending harrassing e-mails to a 16-year-old victim's employer.
A detective assigned to the case learned that Staton had been engaged in an on-line relationship with the victim after seeking her out on the Internet. Investigators say Staton began soliciting the victim in order to produce pornographic images over the Internet.
This case was presented to the Grand Jury on Friday, February 28th, and the indictments were returned against Staton.
He was arrested at his residence and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
