Frederick Police have charged a juvenile as an adult with an armed robbery earlier this month. Kaylee Renee Weeks, 16, of Frederick was taken into custody on Thursday, charged with armed robbery, robbery, second-degree assault, theft less than $1,000, possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure and possession of a concealed dangerous weapon.
Authorities say on March 10th, a victim told officers he was robbed by a female in the 200 block of West South Street. He said the suspect threatened him with a baseball bat while stealing his money.
The detective assigned to the case was able to quickly identify Weeks as the suspect, and obtained a Statement of Charges against her on Thursday, March 27th. She was located later that day near her home in the 600 block of Chapel Alley, and was taken into custody.
