One person suffered minor burns as the result of an apartment fire in Frederick late Saturday morning.
Fire and rescue officials say personnel were dispatched to 6961 Castle Court at the Kingscrest Apartments for a fire in one of the units. Smoke was seen coming from a second-floor window when fire fighters arrived. They located the fire in a second-floor bedroom and quickly put out the flames.
The injured person was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Investigators say damage from the blaze was $20,000.
The cause remains under investigation.
The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.
