An occupant was rescued from a burning home early this morning by Fire Fighters from Frederick and Carroll Counties.
Emergency workers were sent to 5742 Foxcrossing in New Market at around 5:45 a.m. on a call for a 'house fire with resident trapped'.
Arriving fire fighters found a two-story home with smoke coming from a window. Search crews quickly found the trapped occupant who had fallen down the basement stairs. The victim was treated on scene by emergency personnel.
It took fire fighters 10 minutes to put the flames out.
Damage is estimated at $60,000.
The fire is under investigation by the Frederick County Fire Marshal's Office.
