Police Release Identity Of Driver Killed In Keymar Accident

Maryland State Police have released the name of the man who died Thursday in a two-vehicle collision on Woodsboro Pike. In a press release authorities said 41 year old Henry Mathias, of Glen Rock, Pa., was killed after his Jeep Patriot was struck by a pick up truck traveling southbound that lost control. The Ford F-350 was being driven by 46 year old Mike Shoemaker, of Woodsboro. Mathias' wife, Brenda, and son, Brady , were flown from the scene to Shock Trauma, in Baltimore. Authorities said Brenda Mathias was discharged on Friday morning. Brady Mathias is listed in critical condition, and Michael Shoemaker is in serious condition.

Police said the pickup was traveling southbound along Woodsboro Pike, near Nicholson Road, crossed the center line and collided with the Jeep Patriot, which was heading northbound.

Mr. Mathias was pronounced dead on the scene.

Troopers said when they arrived, both vehicles had overturned as a result of the crash.
